Robotic system for machining of soft materials

The system is designed for machining (milling) structural materials with a specific density up to 3 g/cm3. In particular, the robotic system is used for machining model products at the prosthetic-orthosis site - milling from a blank of rectangular section of tooling, mold or matrix for further molding of products from thermoplastics on it.

Tooling material can be different: plaster, MDF, polyurethane model plates with a density of 80 to 650 kg/m3, aluminum alloys.

The robotic system includes a KUKA KR60HA industrial robot, a single-axis positioner, a spindle with automatic tool change, a tool magazine, an extraction system, a control cabinet, and a CAM system for creating control programs.
